The Record

Jake Shimabukuro's June 9, 2006 performance at Revival Tent - Wakarusa festival in Lawrence, KS is preserved in this recording.

Jake Shimabukuro's Wakarusa program sets his own pieces beside “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” Chick Corea's “Spain” and Schubert's “Ave Maria.” The source specifies an afternoon slot in the Revival Tent, with separately tracked introductions and talking. “Third Stream” closes the recording. Those attributed selections and the festival setting give the thirteen-file program its identity without mistaking every introduction for an additional instrumental composition. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
