The Record

Mer's later Pig-Fest XVIII program stretches across forty-three entries, with “Drive & Ride,” “Gamble,” “Just One Song” and “Miss Those Days” at the opening. Covers range from James Taylor and Foo Fighters to Coldplay, the Grateful Dead and Usher, while short Katy Perry/Miley Cyrus and “Firework” teases remain separately indexed. Emma Busch joins the second “Firework” tease on vocals. The last run moves through “Send Me on My Way,” “Long Train Running” and “American Girl,” closing with an audience-wide “Friends in Low Places.” That combination of full songs, brief fragments and shared singing gives the three-disc document its specific festival shape.
