The Record

An injury turned Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers' Cinco de Mayo appearance into an acoustic duo show. The notes say drummer P.H. broke his collarbone and bassist Nick accompanied him home, leaving Roger and Steve to perform. “Mexico,” “Mexican Moonshine,” “Banditos” and “Mekong” sit among the thirty-one entries. Steve performs “Folsom Prison Blues” alone while Roger's guitar has technical trouble, and the encore folds “Baba O'Riely” into a returning “Girly.” The altered lineup and improvised repair interval make this Cafe Du Nord recording a particularly specific document rather than a standard full-band set.
