The Record

Split Squad's Summer Camp recording combines musicians from Umphrey's McGee and moe. in two different groupings. The first squad's program crosses Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck and Frank Zappa selections, while the second connects “Moth,” “The Trooper,” “All in Time” and “Bring You Down.” A later drums passage is explicitly Jim and Kris only, and Joel joins “Life During Wartime.” Both squads then perform an acoustic encore outside the barn, “The Weight” and “Night Moves.” Those location and personnel changes give this three-disc document a more unusual structure than a single-band late-night set.
