The Record

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists' Magic Stick set opens with “The Sons of Cain,” then moves through “Dial Up,” “Me and Mia” and “Army Bound.” “Where Have All the Rude Boys Gone?,” “The High Party,” “Little Dawn” and “Biomusicology” give the twenty-one-entry Detroit program considerable range. Near the close, “Timorous Me” is followed by a separately indexed spoken reflection on the band's week and an a cappella “Dirty Old Town.”
