The Record
The Decemberists's May 20, 2009 performance at Fox Theatre in Oakland, CA is preserved in this recording.
The first set follows the narrative sequence of The Hazards of Love, from “Prelude” through the numbered title-song movements and the Margaret-centered scenes. “The Rake's Song” and “The Abduction of Margaret” appear within that unfolding story rather than as an unrelated hits selection. Some files divide passages that the studio tracklist joins. This Fox Theatre recording is therefore useful as a document of the album's live presentation and its specific boundaries. The source recording and release notes document this edition.
